Never understood why they made an auto model. On paper it was better than an RS escort…It ran well in touring car, but not really developed by Leyland…shame really.

Bruce Bermingham - on paper ? I had both a twin cam mk 1 followed by an RS1600 mk1 my mums DS Firenza. And her best mates dolly sprint were just in a different league ! I was regularly battered through the “ twisties” . However the absolute king was the Alpine A 110 with the Renault 17 engine owned by a friend Bob Brooks ! What a car !!
