From the seller: “Rover SD1 EFI Vanden Plas (1985 ) Auto in Arum White ( rare ) with full brown contrasting leather interior.
This is a true barn find where it has been protected from the elements for over 13 years. This has saved the car as you can see from the photos the body work and interior are in great condition. Never been welded , no structural rust and very solid .The interior has no rips and all electrics seem to be working. The alloy wheels are genuine Rover. The electric factory sunroof is also fitted. It is understood that only 18 of this model are currently on the road in the UK. You could be the lucky 19th.
As part of the recommissioning the fuel tank has been drained ,fuel pump, filter and fuel regulator replaced with new parts. The Plenum chamber has been stripped and cleaned. All oils in the gearbox ,engine have been replaced. The alternator had siezed through lack of use and replaced. The car starts on the turn of the key. Gas struts replaced on the bonnet.
The underside looks very solid And the brake system replaced prior to storage.
The power steering works but looks as though the pump may be leaking. There is also a potential problem with the cooling of the engine. It has not been fully investigated but it could be a head gasket problem.”
