This 1979 Austin Mini Pick Up has had a lot of money spent on it and the seller is even offering free delivery within 200 miles of Tiverton!
From the seller: “1979 Austin Mini Pick Up 998 cc in white with black trim. This lovely Mini Pick Up has been owned for the last 17 years and has had 5 previous owners in the last 46 years. It was restored between 2002 and 2007 and still looks very fresh today. It is nice to see an original Pick Up with its original wheels, brakes, engine and interior. The speedo is showing 21500 miles. As with a lot of the early cars they have been restored and in many cases the engines are 40 plus years old. Regardless of the mileage they are often worn and internally corroded and needing a rebuild. The cost of this work has massively increased in recent years and now is very costly to have done properly. When I bought the Mini I drive around 20 miles in it and the oil pressure was good but at idol it had a slight rattle. The top of the engine was not getting sufficient oil which was causing this problem. As a result it has just had the engine completely rebuilt with all new internals, as well as the gearbox, cylinder head and clutch. It has also had a new electronic distributor / coil and leads and a new 3 core radiator. All of the work has been completed by Ross at Thomas Classic And Modern who also installed the engine and set it up on a rolling road. It was producing 49 bhp and is still being run-in. The cost of this work was £8400 which came as a shock, but if you want a complete job this the going rate in 2024. It can be used with confidence and peace of mind and is still in its running-in stage. I have all of the invoices for the recent work which was completed on the 10th December 2024. It now drives very well and is a lot of fun on the road.”
