JD Classics is returning to Goodwood Members’ Meeting on the 17th-18th March as Official Classic Car Partner

JD Classics is pleased to announce its status as Official Classic Car Partner to the 76th Goodwood Members’ Meeting. The classic car and historic motorsport experts will be campaigning five iconic racing cars during the weekend’s events, and hosting an exclusive hospitality lounge for guests and VIPs.

Out on track, the JD Classics Competition Department will be looking to continue its previous season’s winning streak, with a total of 11 victories notched up across a calendar of international races in 2017.

The Maldon-based classic car and historic motorsport experts will be campaigning five iconic racing cars over the weekend

The team’s Patrick Motorsport Rover SD1 is returning to the Members’ Meeting Gerry Marshall Trophy race, looking to follow-up its double victory at Goodwood last year. Elsewhere, the team’s Spa Six Hours-winning Ford GT40 will honour the late Dan Gurney in the most fitting way possible; a charge to the chequered flag in the Gurney Trophy against sports car prototypes of the early ‘60s.

The JD Classics Costin Lister

The JD Classics Costin Lister – taking part in the Salvadori Cup – will be back on-track for the first time in 2018, fresh from consecutive victories at every single Stirling Moss Trophy race of 2017. Meanwhile, a race-prepared Jaguar Mk2 will be tussling with Lotus Cortinas and Ford Anglias in the Sears Trophy.

A JD Classics customer’s Lister Knobbly will also be taking to the track throughout the weekend. As with all of the JD Classics entries, the Lister has been subject to a full, comprehensive race preparation programme at JD Classics’ 155,000 sq/ft facility in Maldon, Essex, and will have a dedicated team of race technicians for the whole Members’ Meeting event.

JD Classics will also be presenting the Ronnie Hoare Trophy race, named for the man that created Maranello Concessionaires Ltd Ferrari racing outfit. Away from the motorsport action, JD Classics will be hosting an exclusive hospitality lounge, offering its guests passenger rides on the track and private paddock tours.

JD Classics Founder, Derek Hood, said: “The Goodwood Members’ Meeting is one of the most amazing historic motorsport events on the calendar. With an excellent standard of racing and countless grids of rare historic motorsport legends we’re extremely proud to be the event’s Official Classic Car Partner. Our Competition Department is raring to get back out on track, and the whole team is looking forward to welcoming our guests into the JD Classics hospitality lounge across the weekend.”
