This Mk1 Ford Escort appeared on eBay recently and, unsurprisingly, immediately attracted a lot of attention and bids!
From the seller: “Welcome to my auction for our Mk1 Escort Mexico forest arch recreation, as far as I am aware this car started life as a 1300E, 1973, Mot and tax exempt, it has undergone extensive modification to become the car it is today, the most obvious of which are as follows:
The car is running a 1.8 twin cam 16V turbo CA18DET Nissan engine with a 5 speed gear box, Bilstein adjustable coil overs all around, 5 link rear end, quick rack steering column with power steering, GRP4 adjustable fronts arms, RS2000 alloy hubs with oversized bearings, full race tank and battery in boot, new fire wall fitted, Willwood 4 pot callipers with rear disc conversion, braided fuel lines throughout, English axle with Quaife limited slip diff, the existing diff in the vehicle was noisy but we have had the spare reconditioned at a cost of £600 which just needs fitting, paperwork for this with the car, Quaife Half shafts, one piece prop shaft, full stainless steel exhaust, new clutch and master cylinder fitted, full set of Minilights with new tyres, 9 inch to rear and 7 inch to the front, new leather bucket seats, new dash pod.
Paintwork and overall finish is very nice.
This car was put on the rolling road and was producing between 250-300 HP which is video documented.”
