From the seller: “For sale is this lovely original 87′ Trabant 601S Air-cooled 2-Stroke East-German Car.
It was bought from a deceased estate where it has sat for years in a dry barn. The car is LHD but UK registered and been in the country since 1995 with one previous owner.
The 594cc 2-Stroke 2-Cylinder Air-Cooled Engine starts and runs sweetly. The 4-speed column change gearbox selects well in all gears with good clutch bite.
The all-round drum brakes stop the car well and the handbrake is excellent. The suspension rides well all round with no unwanted noises as to be expected.
Mechanically overall it’s a nice car and won’t need much to be used daily.”
