Not much paperwork – full V5 in my name
Shows 11,000 miles on the clocks so would assume its 111,000
Fresh 12 months MOT on 23rd September.
Been off the road a few years. Its had recommissioning work to get it roadworthy
The car drives really well overall. The engine pulls really well and runs great. Brakes are really good. You’d naturally expect a bit of smoke from a Mini but you really have to push it hard to get anything out the exhaust – and even then you can’t see it unless you’re behind it. The gear selector is a bit naff, I can source and replace this for the right price though. It pulls to the left because the tracking slightly out – haven’t had time to rectify it having only managed to get it on the road recently. Again, i can get that done for the right price.
The engine is a bored out 1380cc unit with single HIF44 carb and is plenty quick enough and cruises along at 70 without too much drama although its very loud. It has an electronic fuel pump with fuel pressure regulator – currently cranked up to the max whilst I get to grips with it – it may want turning down slightly but it’s as simple as turning a stereo down.
Body condition is good for the age. The offside a-panel and windscreen corner are rusty but these aren’t expensive to have replaced and painted. The paintwork isn’t great and would definitely benefit from a respray or at least a good polish. I have a few spare metal bonnets which I’d be happy to discuss a price for, one of them is vented so probably ideal for this with its performance engine. Despite this, the temperature stays still and it has no overheating issues. The fuel gauge, speedo, rev counter and temp gauge all work which is rare for a Mini.”
