From the seller: “Welcome to my auction for this superb LDV campervan. It is a 2001 Convoy 400 Long wheel base.
This was originally an ambulance so will have been well maintained. It features the 2.5 litre diesel engine that comes from the Ford Transit (banana engine). It has covered 138,000 miles and will come with a brand new 12 months MOT. It has been owned by the same keeper for 12 years and is only being sold as they have upgraded to a newer one. It has just had a brand new alternator fitted also which cost £150 plus the fitting. It is an off grid camper as it has 2 solar panels on the roof and also one on the bonnet so you can go park this anywhere. This is on sale with no reserve. I am happy to collect the winning bidder from my local mainline train station (Penrith North Lakes). Please be aware that I require a £100 deposit upon completion of the auction.
The exterior is in good solid condition. Yes there is a light mark here and there on the bodywork as you would expect but it is all nice and solid. The sides are nice and straight with no major marks. The tyres all have plenty of tread remaining also. Please take a look through the many images provided as they give a clear representation to the condition.
The interior is in pretty decent condition. Yes it is quite and old conversion but it has been done well. The floor has been done in solid wood and there is a functioning log burning stove. There is also a gas cooker with 2 hobs as well as a gas heater. There is also 12v lighting, a sink as well as a cupboard with a cooling fan ideal for keeping food and drink cold. There is an end bed which is a decent size and will suit anyone up to 6 foot 3 comfortably. There are other numerous storage compartments, bowls etc. Again please take a look through the vast array of images. There are 2 x leisure batteries in the rear which and a solar charging box under the bonnet. There is a good CD player fitted with uprated speakers fitted etc. There are also 2 x 12v power points as well as plenty of interior lighting. Everything you nerd is there and you can just park it anywhere and enjoy it.
Mechanically it is excellent. The engine starts instantly from warm or cold and runs very well indeed with no issues. There is plenty of power from the engine and it gets up to and maintains a good speed. The 5 speed manual gearbox is excellent and all the gears change well both up and down the range with no issues at all. The clutch is also very good and has a good bite point. The steering is good and it has power assisted steering which all works well. The brakes are very good and bring it to a stop in a good safe distance. There are no rattles or bangs from the suspension. This is a reliable van and will go all day long with no issues. There are no warning lights on the dash and the heater gets warm.
All in all a great, reliable off grid camper ready to be used straight away and enjoyed.”
