From the seller: “This is my Datsun 260c Automatic Lowrider with a 2 pump 6 dump hydraulic setup.
I bought this car and have spent a small fortune on it bringing it back to life from a sorry state. I’ve had to source parts from all over the world, Australia, Japan, Qatar, Thailand, Taiwan, Egypt, to name a few to get it to how it is today. A very rare car now, not many about. Being 1974 it’s mot exempt and historic tax class so free road tax.
Bodywork…
It had a quick paint job a couple of years ago in Ford metallic panther black which is very presentable but not absolutely perfect. There is a few micro blisters on one side which will need attention soon but still very presentable as is. Its always been dry stored. I’ve sourced brand new front wing indicators, new rear light lenses, rear boot chrome, c pillar badges, nos front grill, the front fender mirrors come from an early Skyline costing an absolute fortune from Japan, its got front window stainless visors again from japan, front chin spoiler from Japan, the headlights are brand new Marchal lights from Japan, yellow inside lights and clear outers. Wheels are American Racing Wheels with new bolts and custom centre caps/spinners. They have brand new Nankang tyres.
The windows are all tinted in a blue/purple tint.
Interior…
Inside is in great condition, the seats had already been trimmed the way they are when i got the car but were in green so i had the seats coloured black with the white faux suede centres, the door cards were then trimmed in black vinyl and black diamond material and I’ve had custom machined door pins made.. The carpet is brand new from Australia, all door seals and welt seals are brand new sourced from Taiwan. The original radio is still there but i’ve put in a modern cd player also with some super retro Panasonic rear speakers. The centre console was in a rough state when i got it but i black vinyl wrapped the inserts to make it look more presentable, not great but better. I also put in a usb socket with voltage display in the centre console. There’s a very Japanese floating flower shift knob with a trick adaptor so you just push down to shift.
Engine…
Being a 260c it has the straight 6 cylinder engine. Its covered 51,117 miles. Engine had a full top end rebuild in 2007 at around 51,050 miles. It runs perfect, I’ve put on new leads, distributor cap, rotor arm, plugs, new genuine Nissan oil filter and new oil, new air filter, new fuel filter. The starter was new when i got the car. The engine bay had a quick blow over in black too, looks very presentable. I had loads of stuff blasted and gold passive coated, block was painted blue, air filter housing has been painted to original colour, new hoses, new pipe clips, new rare ‘y’ pipe from japan, cam cover was vapor blasted bringing it back to a lovely clean new look, the whole engine bay looks much fresher and tidy. Brakes were all new, new pads, master cylinder, rear wheel cylinders, all hoses, new copper lines, rear shoes. Anything its needed I’ve changed or renewed.
Hydraulics…
Originally a Rayvern build, 2 pumps 24V each, 6 dumps, front up, back up, both sides up and individual corner control. The switch box is brand new and custom made and all wiring/switches were custom made for me by El Toro in the states. I’ve just installed accumulator bulbs for the ride comfort with shut off taps. Brand new batteries in the rear corners or the boot with a kill switch in the centre. Boot and install isn’t amazing but again looks ok. There’s chassis strengthening throughout so nice and strong. Hydraulics move very well, lays quite low, and drives actually very good.”
