From the seller: “Ford Consul Classic 315, year of manufacture 1963, owned by the same person (before the previous keeper), for nearly 35 years in dry storage. Restoration needs completing – I have the V5 Log book in my name, the car is taxed at the moment.
This is a good winter project that doesn’t require too much to restore.
I bought this going on 2 years ago as a project car to keep for myself and work on when not busy but unfortunately I had to let go of my works unit and had no room to work on it.
The car is incredibly solid (almost 60 years old), and requires only minimum welding, all chrome work present and good, floors good, boot and tyre well good, chassis box section good. Engine runs beautiful, had valves and seats re grind and head skimmed professionally. The seats are present and quite usable but there are some tears and would benefit from re upholstering.
Work still to be done on the car mainly is new exhaust, brakes and brake and clutch cylinders fitting back on, back valance and bottom of rear drivers side wing finishing, interior sorting out (no welding), drivers door and wing re fitting, fuel tank and pipes fitting and painting.
All the main parts are with the car, new tyres fitted on newly refurbished original wheels, new distributor, points, coil and battery. The front wings have been replaced with fibreglass ones some time in the past.”
