Wow! Just wow! This early Mk1 Ford Escort has had the best of everything thrown at it and is a real headturner. We’ve got a feeling that the bidding will be frantic on this one…
From the seller: “1968 Ford Escort 1300GT
it was sprayed in 2019 Olympic blue except for under the bonnet, Mexico front wings, Large tunnel, top slam panel is bolted on, inner front had been removed due to having intercooler in place on previous engine.
In my opinion the bodywork is faultless.
Fitted with Vauxhall 16v redtop, I do not know much about the engine & have no proof, but on inspection, I have found the following:
twin 48’s, Costcast head has been port & polish, does has stamps on the cast SRE001 (could be Swindon race engines)
Has had new pistons & conrod with ARP bolts, fitted with Helix 184mm clutch & flywheel, adjustable cam verniers, Yakspeed sump, Mega squirt ECU
Malpassi fuel pressure regulator, Bosch 044 fuel pump
Ashley exhaust system
I do not know the BHP, could do with a little rolling road set up”
