From the seller: “Welcome to the sale of my Reliant Kitten. SLEEPER, HILL CLIMB , SPRINT CAR , PROJECT.
Year of manufacture 1980, so registered as a historic vehicle MOT and Tax exempt.
It has been fitted with a Diahatsu Charade cb80 GTTI engine. Gear box and suspension in the rear of the car, then all suspension arms fitted, with rose joints and adjustable rods. Sits really nice in the rear of the car and runs perfectly. Benefiting from a recent full service.
1 litre, DOHC, 12 valve, 3 cylinder Turbo, 100 bhp standard.(estimated around 125bhp at moment) weight around 400 kg but would benefit from a tune up at some point.
The shell is in decent shape for 40year old car and has been coated in matt black textured, raptor bed liner both inside and out.
It has Escort mark 2 rally arches, Opel Manta mirrors and BBS Alloys all round.
The interior is none existent, 2 alloy Kirkey racing bucket seats without padding. Not built for comfort, built for weight, power and sheer fun.
The power to weight ratio ensures a fun experience and will put a huge smile on your face, as it goes like sh1t off a shovel. Good classic cheap insurance with all mods declared.
Running the standard ecu at the moment, however because these very rare engines have forged internals, they can be tuned to in excess of 300bhp. I am including a set of Sard 800 injectors with boots in good order to be fitted by new owner.
List of upgrades so far:
Up rated fuel pump
Magnecor racing leads
Blitz supersound dump valve
400 bhp Ram air filter
Micra SR radiator and fan
New silicone and stainless steel cooling system
Upgraded big landrover intercooler
Recent full service
Oil breather filter
Hydraulic hand brake
Discs all round
Good battery
Stainless straight pipe exhaust (exits side of car)
Satellite speedo, boost gauge, rev counter and volt meter
Lockable bonnet catches
2 usb and a 12v socket
Mountney racing steering wheel
Braced roll bar
Engine bracing
To summarise, a very unique and very fast little car. Definitely not for an inexperienced driver, very raw driving experience which is extremely thrilling! Although perfectly driveable and solid, with these kind of cars they are an ongoing project, so please bear this in mind.”
