Volkswagen’s Winter Health Check offers value, convenience and reassurance during the cold season

  • by

As the weather dips towards freezing, Volkswagen has again launched its Winter Health Check, with the £20, 34-point check now available for customers to be booked online, or scheduled via their local Volkswagen Retailer.

The £20 Winter Health Check includes a package of convenient and reassuring benefits to motorists, starting with a 34-point inspection to ensure the car is as safe and winter-ready as possible. This includes a battery test: particularly handy when many cars have not been in as regular use in the past year due to lockdowns.

The 34-point inspection is intended to help identify any parts that require work or replacement for safety reasons. It will also point out areas of the car that may require attention at a later date. Among items included in the Winter Health Check are tyre pressures and tyre tread depths, both of which are important for safe winter motoring, as well as checks of – and, if necessary, topping up of – the oil, coolant and washer fluid levels.

Also part of the Winter Health Check is a Winter Car Care Kit, with an RRP of £20, which provides a package of cold-weather-friendly accessories, including screenwash, de-icer, a rubber care stick (which cleans, conditions and protects the rubber seals around car doors, windows and boot lids) and an ice scraper. Finally, the inspected vehicle gets a little more TLC, with a wash and vacuum rounding off the Winter Health Check with a sparkling sheen.

Customers wishing to schedule their Winter Health Check can do so online, at www.volkswagen.co.uk, or alternatively contact their local retailer to book a slot. Furthermore, if the customer finds a cheaper like-for-like quote within five miles of the retailer, the retailer will honour the price1.

The Winter Health Check is available now, until 28 February 2022. Those wishing to have further maintenance carried out, or purchase other accessories, can also do so at the same time. The cost can be spread through Volkswagen’s aftersales finance offering, which allows customers to choose between the following options: pay nothing now, and settle up in three equal monthly payments with nothing to pay for up to 40 days; or, pay 25% of the cost on the day and pay the remaining balance in five monthly instalments (or eight if the cost is above £1,500). This service is available at participating Volkswagen Retailers.

Owen Shepherd, Head of Aftersales at Volkswagen UK, said: “With drivers in the UK having not driven as far as usual during recent times, a winter health check for their car is a handy way of keeping everyone safe, and their cars well-maintained.

“At £20, it’s great value too – for that you benefit from a 34-point express visual check, a wash and vacuum, and a car care kit, itself also worth £20, all included, in addition to peace of mind and reassurance.”
