From the seller: “Here we have for sale my 1982 scirocco gti not a glx gt gs ect factory gti with the 1.6 8v injection engine.
It’s got 114k on the clock and it actually runs and drives and is 99% complete (missing rear bumper front bumper grille and lights (non gti specific all mk2 scirocco ones are the same)
Interior is in fantastic condition for a nearly 40 year old motor but the car obviously has no mot and is going to need welding to the rear arches and sills as the bare minimum ideally it needs restoring to its former glory it s a project well worth doing as it only has 114k on the clocks there is only a handful of the gti left on the road I believe around 20. the engine runs sweet as a nut (when it wants to, it has an intermittent spark problem where it just loses spark and won’t start either a problem with the points or the ignition control module)
I did nothing to it apart from fit a new coil and after 10 years sitting it fired right up no tapping or knocking. It’s on some cheap coilovers but included in the sale is new springs and shocks all round and 2x new rear lights don’t know why it came with 2 new rear lights as there is nothing wrong with the originals.”
