From the seller: “Here we have my beloved mk2 golf gti. I fortunately it started as a project that was never finished, reason being the chap who undertook the work never finished it and as a result it’s been sat in my garage for a number of years.
There has been a lot of work done to the car, I believe there is a timing issue with the engine as it’s been fully rebuilt. Details of the rebuild are:
Head:
Head port polished, new bronze tapered valve guides, titanium retainers, new +2mm valve seats for inlet and exhaust, +2mm bigger valves for inlet and exhaust, new hydronic cam followers, high lifting cam shaft, veneer pulley, custom golf branded made to order rocker cover and heavy duty valve springs to Rev to 8,000 rpm (with the chip to reprogram the ECU). Ram air carbon fibre air inlet filter, miltek 4-1 exhaust manifold with scorpion exhaust (sounds lovely and very deep)
Block:
Block has been rebored and honed due to wear, fitted with +2mm pistons and new rings, all new bearings and rebalanced crankshaft.
Gearbox:
Original gear box, worked great, no noises/crunches coming from it. Fitted with a black diamond uprated clutch and flywheel has been slightly lightened
Interior:
Recaro full leather interior in grey (out of a previous show car), zender walnut and leather steering wheel (super rare), digifiz 8k cluster (super rare), vortex center console (rare), machined aluminium golf gear knob.
Brakes and suspension:
Braided brake lines, standard breaks – didn’t get round to them. AVO coilover suspension, genuine BBS RM wheels repowdercoats in a bronze, fitted with 2.5inch stainless lips, genuine logo’s (wheels were around £2000)”
