This early Land rover Series 1 is one of the prettiest we’ve seen for quite some time and should give years of hassle-free service to the new owner.
From the seller: “1949 Land Rover Series 1 80 2.0 Manual, finished in Sage Green and fitted with a rebuilt 2.0 engine, new steering-box and rebuilt radiator. In long term ownership forming part of a private collection.
Invoices totalling £14000 for works in 2023 alone are contained in a detailed History and Information file along with a photographic record of the engine rebuild.
The BMIHT Factory Record confirms it was a RHD model built in June 1949 in Sage Green and given the registration number HUY 158 shortly after, which it still retains. Also fitted with its original working semaphore trafficators. Originally of course built with a 1.6 engine, the 2.0 being added some time ago and certainly an improvement over the initial unit.
This very early Series 1 presents in restored and highly usable condition throughout and will be a credit to any collection.”
