From the seller: “HERE we have a pretty little Standard 10 in two tone cherry red and cream.
An elderly chap did most of the work during the past year or so. I have never seen one of these small 1950s Standards with such a solid underside. It really is quite amazing! Seats have been re-trimmed to the correct spec and she is even very pretty under the bonnet. These Standards offer a change from the more common Morris Minors and Austin A30/35s and are an ideal entry level classic car. She tootles along as she should but remember these are utilitarian vehicles from a different era. They need to be handled with love and care. Like many early Minis with the “magic wand” gear lever, they wander a bit when changing gear. But all is fine once you know 1st and 2nd are over there to the east and 3rd and 4th are across to the west and down by your left knee ha ha!! All good classic car fun. Speedo reads 4,000 (doubt it before you ask me and so please don’t!). Engine is really sweet and has more than likely been rebuilt. Cute and fun little classic.
There will be quirks and things that probably need fettling. For example, the mesh grille for the front is in the boot as I have learned that you need to open the bonnet catch with the aid of a screwdriver.”
