From the seller: “Being neither a barn find or a restored example this car has been owned by the current owner since 2001, having purchased the car from Ian Mason, the renowned Aston Martin specialist previously based in North Kensington, London.
Ian had competed with the car for many years with some success throughout the 70’s and 80’s before work commitments took over and the car was laid up. Naturally time took its toll and the car was sold to the third owner, in need of restoration; during the ensuing years the car was partly restored and is now offered in a condition ready to be finished, complete with all major components. Both mechanical and suspension parts are complete in varying degrees of condition with the rolling chassis and body prepared in an aluminium state to a very high standard, as seen in the photographs. The prospective buyer has a unique opportunity to complete the restoration process and return the car to the road to their exact preference and specification.
Supplied with a period correct engine and gearbox, this example is offered with a history file full of the original race history detailing results and entries, together with the UK V5 certificate, photos and newspaper cuttings. This is the perfect starting point for a DB5 restoration with provenance and quality at the forefront of the project.”
