From the seller: “Ford Cortina MK1 4 Door GT.
This car was imported a few years ago and bought by one of our customers . He has decided to sell it as he never gets time to use it. Its a genuine GT but has been upgraded to a 1600 crossflow with mild cam and twin 40s. Car starts runs and drives and was used to attend a few car shows in last couple of years. We have the Uk V5 here and car is ready to go
Body – 4 door Gt export spec shell with tramp bars , extra strengthening on strut tops and also has the chrome trim that some export models got. Very solid old car which needs nothing doing. On the chassis plate it shows body type as 78 which is correct for a 4 door GT. Paintwork is nice and tidy. This car would sit quite happily at a car show. It might not win a prize but will certainly get a few looks. Few minor marks here and there but for its age a very good looking car. Few minor bubbles on door bottom but overall very good looking old car.
Mechanics – good strong 1600 crtossflow. Not sure on the spec but its not standard and goes very well. Its got twin 40s fitted and seems to go well with no major flatspots. Gearbox is standard. Brakes are very good with remote servo fitted, Double width anti roll bar, rear disc conversion.
Interior – All original Gt. All gauges appear to work. Seats are nice and tidy. Half roll cage fitted. Umbrella handbrake. Good door cards and headlining
Wheels – 7″ Minilight style wheels with good tyres
Really good looking old car and a genuine GT. Not concourse but very tidy.”
