It’s hard to think that over half a million of the Mk5 Cortina were made, as you see so few around these days. And, even when you do spot one, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better looking one than this!
From the seller: “This Ford Cortina 2.0 GL was registered on the 2nd of November 1981 & is probably one of the very best surviving Mk5’s from around 530,000 manufactured. It was subjected to a no expense spared restoration around six years ago & was fitted with various new body panels such as sills, front wings & front valance, it was then resprayed in it’s original colour of Strato Silver. All of the work was carried out to an exceptionally high standard, it’s green interior is in equally pristine condition. Around the time of the body restoration a lot of mechanical work was carried out to it’s brakes, suspension & engine, it was fitted with a twin choke Weber carburettor, four branch exhaust manifold, a high lift camshaft & a lightened flywheel. ”
