This Rover P6 has been in long term ownership, but has done relatively little mileage in that time. A great base for a brilliant retro ride!
From the seller: “Rover P6 1974 3500s V8 4 speed manual. Restoration project.
Loss of garage and lack of time necessitates sale. Engine currently runs with low oil pressure. Sold as a project for restoration. Car will require transportation.
Rover P6 3500s V8 1974 manual 4 speed gearbox, Lunar Grey, black vinyl roof. Black leather interior. Boot mount spare. Power steering. Current mileage 69,500. Club member, the car has been in my ownership for 23 years and has covered around 10,000 miles in that time. CD player and radio.
Ran well until very recently (August 2023) – engine is now running with low oil pressure. Just returned from a garage for diagnosis. The oil & filter were changed along with a new oil pressure relief valve fitted. The engine starts fine and registers a reading of around 10–15 psi on the oil pressure gauge. There is some tappet noise. Garage suggests potential engine rebuild required. The purchaser will need to investigate this problem for themselves to determine the correct course of action. Therefore selling as a restoration project. Car has not been used since oil pressure issue occurred.”
