A ‘rolling restoration’, this 1980’s top-end car offers a real touch of class to the retro scene. Most of the work has been done, but it sounds like the car could do with somebody who doesn’t mind getting stuck into the remaining tasks to get this BMW over the finish line.
From the seller: “The car is MOT’d and roadworthy but needs finishing.
I am currently renovating a house so a couple of classics need to go!
The underside of the car is immaculate. Any welding required has been carried out to a very high standard with a photographic record to back this up. I have fitted the correct alloy wheels, brand new bilstein shocks and springs and a Fritz bitz exhaust (but not manifold yet). She has also been treated to new front brake calipers and pads all round as well as new handbrake cables, etc. A new clutch master cylinder was also fitted at the same time.
I have had the paintwork tidied up and although presentable it is not perfect. If you are expecting a concours job this is not for you. However, the car is presentable and with a few finishing touches it could be very nice.
The seats need to be treated and there is a hole in one drivers side bolster. A new carpet is provided with the car. The sunroof was removed by the paint shop and not refitted. A new lid for this is also provided. The engine has been serviced but needs going through and the brake pedal has stopped returning properly (a common fault on these cars apparently and easy enough to fix).”
