This Land Rover Series 2A Safari is very much a project. The photos here below show her before she was stripped down. Check out the full eBay listing for current ones!
From the seller: “It is with a heavy heart and reluctance, but I have decided to list my 1968 Series IIA LWB (‘Dippy’) for sale on here.
I purchased Dippy about three years ago as a barn find, before that she had been sitting in the barn I collected her from since 1988. I had every intention to restore Dippy to her former glory, however, for various reasons this hasn’t been possible and I am now left with no choice but to put her up for sale.
About Dippy:
Dippy is a 1968 Series II LWB Safari, at some point in the 80’s her original petrol engine was swapped out for a diesel one, but she otherwise remains mostly original (if you ignore the air horns and extra wiring from the 80s).
Her engine fires up and turns over – it started up on the first try when we shorted the starter motor after not being run since 1988.
We have loads of new parts for her, including a new wiring loom, footwell panels, brake components etc etc.
As expected for her age, her chassis isn’t in the best condition – it could be repaired by a decent welder, but I would recommend a new chassis to do this amazing vehicle the justice she deserves.”
