From the seller: “I bought this car five years ago with the intention of bringing it back to very good condition as the vehicle is in very good condition, but time, age and circumstances means I can not now do it justice.
It is a 1973 Vauxhall Viva two door S model which was a special model at that time, it is a two tone blue which I don’t think was a normal feature the top blue is Aqua blue starfire but I do not know what the bottom blue is. The paintwork as such is quite presentable but does have surface rust on the bootlid and on the bonnet nothing serious but it is there all the other panel are pretty much surface rust free. The bodywork is in very good condition with the only rust that is present is on the drivers sill at the back which has a small hole and will want replacing in due course everything else is very solid, the inner wings which normally are a rust prone area are very solid with no signs of rust, the floor is also very solid so all in all it is a very good base to start with. It has the genuine correct rostyle wheels (five).
The interior is in very good condition, all the seats look very good with very little signs of any wear, the headlining is also in good condition with minimal staining ,the carpet is brand new quality wool carpet(made by hamiltons £300) and the bonus point is the webasto sunshine roof which is in full working order and in very good condition.
Mechanically the engine starts and runs with no signs of any problems, it is difficult to start I have put a new battery on along with new plugs, points, leads, dist cap, and rotor, it has a webber carb that a previous owner has fitted ,the rear exhaust box is more holes than anything else so needs replacing the front section looks in good condition.
The mileage is just over 42,000 I have no idea if this is genuine but in the last ten years it has only done 2,000 miles so it could be.
I have fitted the proper reverse lamps and rear fog lamps but are not wired in yet as they will need switches, I have got some similar switches but as you would need to cut holes in the dash to fit them and the new owner may have different ideas,I have also fitted new chrome wiper blades and radio aerial, the genuine Vauxhall radio is obviously the original fitting it does switch on but nothing else”
