This particular Rover Mini seems sensibly priced. Well worth a look if you’re after a cheap classic car!
From the seller: “Last of the carburettor powered A-series engines – the one to have! Current owner for the last 12 years and recently removed from 10 years of ventilated dry storage and now recommissioned & Mot’d
Body restoration & paint was completed by the previous owner, with new sills, valances, A-panels & front wings. As part of the recommissioning a few minor repairs to the sills & front floor to kick board have been carried out to achieve the current MOT (now due Aug’24). With a suspected head gasket failure, the head was removed & professionally overhauled (skimmed, new seals, valves re-seated) and refitted with new gaskets.
It starts, runs & drives really well, 2nd gear syncro can be beaten when cold, but OK when warmed up and can be expected with its age. The cooling system (including a new heater matrix, thermostat & cap), gearbox (new seals & CV boots fitted) & clutch are all OK. Electrics, brakes (new discs & pads, calipers rebuilt with new seals & stainless-steel pistons) & front suspension all previously overhauled.”
