MOUNTUNE RACING TO AUTOSPORT ENGINEERING

Mountune Racing, the UK’s leading engine tuning and parts service provider, is set to unveil the all-new 2018 Motorbase Performance British Touring Car Championship car on its stand at Autosport Engineering.

The 2018 Motorbase Performance BTCC Ford Focus car will have a Mountune 2.0 litre EcoBoost engine. The specialist automotive and power unit engineering company is world-renowned for its development of road-going engines and its prestigious motorsport pedigree. Its engines have claimed championship successes across numerous world and national motor racing series’ including the World Rally Championship, World Rallycross and BTCC, which helped forge a long-term affiliation with Ford.

Mountune has been at the cutting edge of class-leading motorsport engine technology and components production since 1980. The outfit quickly gained a reputation preparing championship-winning Cosworth YB engines in the infamous Ford RS500 cars and later in the World Rally Championship. Mountune powered some of the world’s most-revered racing names, such as Francois Delecour and Carlos Sainz to victories in rally events across the globe.

British Touring Car Championship successes in the early ‘90s began a long and fruitful affiliation with the series, continuing to this day. 2017 BTCC champion Ash Sutton’s Mountune-prepared engine will be on display on the stand across the two-day dedicated engineering event at Autosport International.

The Mountune team will also exhibit its Global Rallycross (GRC) power unit on its stand.

The competitive Mountune-developed Ford Duratec engined cars have dominated the series since its inception. Unique in that it is longitudinally mounted, Mountune has made mechanical revisions to almost every area of the power plant, including the ECU, turbo, block, crankshaft, pistons and intake system. The changes to the Ford Duratec have yielded significant performance gains, all of which can be explained by the dedicated and expert team on hand across the two day event.

The team at Mountune Racing – a global subsidiary providing manufactured racing parts across the world, will also be on the stand exhibiting a host an array of leading engine components. Show visitors and business leaders are welcomed to come and talk to Mountune’s dedicated team at the show from 11-12 January 2018.
