What a great car and a credit to the seller, who saved it from the scrap man and turned it back into a roadworthy vehicle with a full MOT! Hopefully, somebody will take over ownership now and source the last few bits to make this a show car, as it’s now quite a rare sight…
From the seller: “I bought this in February this year, mainly to stop it from being scrapped. It was bought with a cold start problem, and a number of other niggles that the previous owner hadn’t sorted, and a very short MOT. Over the past 6 months, I’ve sourced the parts needed, had them all fitted and put it through an MOT.
I had a new glow plug relay fitted, and a fair bit of shoddy wiring redone, including rewiring the immobiliser so it now starts first time, every time. I managed to find a NOS bonnet release cable and handle, and had this fitted too, which is a bit of a pain in the neck of a job. Sourced a new front wiper motor, all the switches for the electric seats and the drivers window switch. In addition, the NSR suspension cylinder was leaking, and these are no longer available new. I managed to find two from used cars, after weeks of searching, so had one fitted and the other is included in the sale for the new owner as a spare. Along with 4 patches of welding to the sills and floor pan, it was then ready to pass the MOT.”
